From the moment you arrive at The Coach House you enter a peaceful haven in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire. You enter down a grassy lane and the first sight of the cottage is from the entrance to the pretty country garden. It is like a perfect picture! Inside the cottage itself you have the feeling of being in a well loved home where every need has been thought of. Welcomed with a basket of locally sourced goodies and even a gift of local chocolates! What more could you ask for! As we visited in June we didn’t use the living room but can imagine it would be lovely to curl up in there on a chilly night. We spent our time sitting in the bright dining room with the patio door open – looking out on the garden. Nothing nicer than sitting listening to the birds and watching the squirrels. And two beautiful upstairs bedrooms – with duck down quilts aid your sleep!
The local area had so many great walks and hikes with country pubs and great tea rooms to stop at! All in all we loved our country haven for the 4 nights we spent there and hope to return, as there was still so much to see and do in this area.
Our spirits were immediately lifted. We love North Yorkshire as a holiday destination and would not stay anywhere else. Noelle and her family are gracious hosts offering a warm welcome upon arrival and are always happy to offer help where needed. The Coach House is large enough to accommodate personal space as well as a really comfy sitting room and spacious separate dining area for spending time together. An armchair positioned in front of the large double doors which open out onto the garden was the perfect spot to relax and watch the changing parade of wild life. The beds are really comfortable and warm. We recommend the Coach House for a relaxing break, the quality of the furnishings, the position of the property for exploring the Moors and Dales and the impeccable service Noelle and her family offer.
We stayed at The Barn for a week and only wish it could have been longer. From the design of the living accommodation to the choice of furnishings and household equipment, every aspect of The Barn has been very carefully considered and executed to a very high standard. We couldn’t have been more comfortable and would definitely like to stay again.
Tim and Noelle are very gracious and welcoming hosts and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Our hosts’ expert local knowledge was also very helpful and Tim gave us some great tips on what to see and do, where to buy local produce and the best places to eat out – we can certainly recommend The Star Inn at Harome if you want to treat yourself.
Noelle’s Cottages is definitely one of the best self-catering holidays we’ve ever had – we really hope to be able to visit The Barn again soon.
Our first trip to this area and what a lovely warm welcome by Noelle to the beautiful Applestore Cottage. The cottage was very homely, well equipped and the master bedroom and bathroom were stunning! The gardens surrounding the cottage were beautiful and we spent many mornings wandering through the gardens and the kids played on the trampoline. There was plenty of information in the cottage about things to do and places to eat and Noelle, Tim and Chantelle were on hand to provide recommendations. The location made an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas and coastline and with 2 teenage children, there was plenty to do such as going to York, Whitby and Flamingo Land. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning one day!
